The ratio is set on the unit rather than measured by hand for each fill. You select 40:1 or 50:1, and every dispense leaves the tank blended at that ratio, so the result does not change between machines, operators, or days of the week.
Which ratios can I run?
40:1 and 50:1, which cover the great majority of two-stroke handheld and mower equipment. Follow whatever your equipment manufacturer specifies.
Is it compatible with my equipment?
